AKAI MFC42 worthwhile?

hey, i'm new to the forum and have just gotten started with the 2000xl. i'm curious if the analogue filter (AKAI MFC42) is a worthwhile investment. I would like to be able to have greater control over the sounds that i use and figure this would be a good way.

also, is there a conflict or overlap between what the MFC42 will do and what the effects card (EB16) will do within the MPC?

hi, i think the mfc42 is a mad addition to the mpc, considering the mpc only has the basic digital lp filter w/ res. it wont conflict with the effects card as the filters is applied aftert the output from the mpc. and the fx returns can be bussed to seperate outsput with the 8 outs.

If you want to have greater control over the sounds that you use, the 8 outs + a mixer might be a more logical investment; you'd be able to EQ all your outs seperately, and add FX if you buy an FX processor. Of course the 8 outs + a mixer + 1 or 2 fx boxes is quite an investment... But come to think of it, if you don't have the 8 outs already, the MFC42 wouldn't be much use either.

If all you have now is the MPC with no 8 outs, the EB16 gives the most bang for buck. It would allow you to set up 2 reverbs and 2 multi FX without the need for an external mixer or the 8 outs.

Do a search on "MFC42" and on "EB16".
