I've been hunting around music stores and the internet looking for some kind of machine for making beats. Ideally, I'd like the mpc, but I've heard some good things about the ensoniq eps 16+ and the asr 10. What are all the devices I would need to make some music? I already own two tech 12's, a mixer, and a cheap tape recorder. Any help is appreciated.

I'd just to say research on your favorite producers, and see what your favorite albums where produced on. Also read reviews on www.harmony-central.com on what your gonna buy, also see the Your Music forum to see what people are making on the Mpc'zzz.

Welllll bro,
The first thing you should determine is what you wanna do with your music. My personal opinion is that the majority of people go out and spend way too much money on the latest equipment when you can do good with the older stuff. Practice, imagination, knowlege of your equipment, and hunger will get you more results than any money you'll ever spend. Do your research and take it from there.........
