sample assign

Hi

Just started using an MPC 2000, if I sample and assign to a pad, then sample again, the new sample is being assigned to the same pad. This is usually the first or second along the bottom row?? How do I stop this? -

after you sample you have to press the pad where you want the new sample to go.

do you mean when you are still in sample mode? -

yeah, after youve sampled your sound some dialog should pop up...umm, this is for the 2000xl but if the 2000 is similar in this respect this should do it

I don't think a box pops up with the 2000, must be an xl thing eh?

Press the pad that you want the sound to go to, don't just press the same pad everytime or don't just press do it after every sampling.

do you mean immedietly after sampling? in sampling mode? this will determine which pad the sample is assigned to?

I think I have tried this but sounds in the program I am working on are still being replaced.

Don't hit a pad that has sound in it, hit a pad with nothing in it then DO IT and your new sound will go there..

i also have just a 2000 and the box pops up just like the xl (i'm assuming) right after you stop recording the sample. scroll to the second line that says "assign to note:" and pick a pad w/ no sound assigned to it.
