saving recorded mix changes on 2kxl

im makin a beat and i record some nice panning to the hats using the "mixer" screen (shift+9). now i save the sequence and everything... and i come back to my neat today, and the panning/ mix changes are gone. what did i do wrong? is there anyway to save mix changes? or do i have to record/track out the beat as is?

help please, cuz i am gonna use this technique w alot of beats

Congrats on being the first person to ask that.

Mixer settings are saved in the .all file.

MOst people use there mixer, computer, ect.. for mixing but great question. Cause what I do is track out then pan, mix, ect.. But I dont think I ever seen that question asked. But you should be able to save the settings cause when I saved a song I did and I had some of the sounds on various pads turned down and when I loaded the song back up the mixer settings were the same but I didn't mess with the panning so it might be different.

FYI, they are also saved in PGM files. The mixer, along with the PARAMS for each pad, ASSIGN for each pad, etc (basically, anything that's NOT a sample or seq/song) is saved with the PROGRAM. So saving just the PGM will save that info, as well as ALL files.

i asked the question a while back. no one here, or even the people at akai could really pinpoint a good explaination of why it does it the way it does.

in short, i just save the .ALL and the .PGM files. mixer's still setup when i recall the beat although i have no fuucking clue why.

please forgive me if this doesnt make much sense, i might be asleep righ tnoiw.

its all in the all file. its been said here a few times now.

Make sure you havn't muted the tracks wich you recorded the mixerchanges upon.

Two tips when making mixerchanges:

Slow down the tempo when you record mixerchanges. Then you got a more precise mixerchange. Not always necessary....

Record on a empty track = easier to edit (erase e.g.)
