LOL...Eventually, an MPC 20000000XXXLLL will be created. It'll be a human-sized robot. All you'll have to do is say, "Kanye!" and it'll spit out a beat just like his with no input from you.

With each new gadget comes a higher learning curve, which leaves me less time for creativity and inspiration. Ableton Live is so sick, it gives me the creeps, but I've find myself playing with it more than creating. I guess I'll stick with my trusty XL.

WDJ where did you get that pic and the info? I didn't even see anything about the 2500 even on Akai's Japan site, and I noticed that picture is not a direct link to a website. It's an imageshack.us link.

I did a search and couldn't find anything on the net about it either.

So, a "distant" friend in Akai distro, huh? A lot of cats got to eat their words now. hahaha

it's a messy spec sheet, I liked the look of it at first but it doesn;t seem to have much on the 1000 by the looks of things. 64 tracks, but then it says in addition to 64 tracks with the internal sampler, near the bottom it says 4 outs, I don;t get it, this info seems pasted together. once we get decent info that'll be good, but so far it doesn;t look any better than the 4k or the 1000.

10 analog outs? BUILT IN?!?

That's wutz UP!! :D

Plus, according to that link above, Tanamo should be heating up some humble pie right about now..... 8)

Looks pretty kool.. Its defniately not much new in it compared to the 4k though. I wonder if the Chopshop feature and Patched Phrase is coming in OS updates for the 4000. I definately HOPE so.

1 major thing is wrong with this unit, perhaps it will be fixed before it is released. It won't read programs made for the the Z samplers, S5/6K samplers, and MPC 4000, reads only WAV. files.

It looks like they downgraded the sequencer capacity for notes from 300,000 on the 2000xl, 4000 to 100,000 like on the 1k. I wonder why they would do that if its the 2500. One would think they would at least keep the same note capacity as the 2000xl. Man you guys thought the 1k was sellin for cheap now, wait unitl this thing comes out. Man ppl will be ditching their gear left and right.

yeah. seems kinda redundant if you already got an MPC.
