the way you're thinking........NOPE. the mute and solo on the 1000 are not recordable

actually, i think he can do what hes asking. if you have a kick you want to take out you have to set it to the track that has the kick and then press overdub--->record and which ever kick you want to take out just hold erase and hit the pad that produced the kick on which ever hit you want to take out. that kick will no longer be in the sequence.

thats hard to put into words. hope u understand

pad, but i think he's asking for the same thing the most of us are: recordable
track mutes.

thanks buddy, maybe i say in other way, ...if i got a sample of ensemble, it playing in the sequence, but in some bar, i only want parts of the sample sync. with bass drum, i can press the button in track mute to mute some part of the sample, just like the action turning down the fader in mixer, i just want to record it down, if i cant do this in mpc1000, is that i can plug with mixer and play along with track mute then record it down in the mixer?? maybe this is a wrong concept, thank!!!

i think you're asking if you can record the actions you do on the track mute
screen to your sequence or song, and the answer is no. but what i've done,
is just record the beat to your comp via soundcard and use the track mute
screen to make those changes. you can midi it up and sync and that way rec
the track mutes along with the track

i understood what he meant. he wants to automate the mute/solo on the 1k. and like i said, he can't, it's not recordable. now Pad, i know what you are talking about, i do the same thing. as well as what hecto said. if i have a song that i want to mix like the snare dropping for a beat or the kick dropping, i do that after i record it to nuendo then do my mixdown that way.

What i do is that i copy the sequence i wanna make some unique change in, say it's called "theme" then the new one will be called "theme with snareroll" for example. then i set it up in song mode. That's a way to solve your problem. ..but yeah, it's a shame you can't record the track mute, other automation recording would be nice to.
