the point is to replace the XL in their current line up.

I see what your sayin. Theres a couple new features, but essentially they're just picking different features from each of the machines, and combinig into one. I would rather get a 4000 off of ebay for less than what cost. But like i said i'm keeping my 1k. Me personally. I like keepin it simple just my mpc & asr, and I'm good to go.

I wish the keypad, transport controls, and data wheel etc. were on the left hand side like the XL.
I like to keep my right hand on the pads, and tweak the other stuff with my left.

damn yo,

nice thread... inside word is spreading quickly...

IMO its dope that they are including 2/4 midi in/outs, thats part of what makes the 3k/60 such a beast... 4 midi outs makes an mpc superior to any other sequencer, even though ive only used 3 at a time with my 60...

hmmm... cant wait to see one in the stores...

i know some people may be gettin excited over a long overdue 2000xl update, but at that price, and seeing as there aint any mind blowing improvements, seems like a waste of money imo.
Probably the best thing to come out of the release will be the drop in price of other models.

Most likely. I never heard of Akai's products like the MPC's and multitracks and such having completely workable OS's upon the first release of their machines. They are just worried about getting the hardware ready and pushing it out as fast as possible, they worry about the software after they sold hundreds of units.

the price doesnt seem right to me. You can get a fullblown MV8000 for that price. Comes with a harddrive, internal sounds, and so many more options. Im not knockin the 2500, ill probably end up gettin it but thats def to expensive.

Does anybody else think it looks like somebody photoshoped all the mpc's into one picture? :?
