if only that pic was only a bit sharper...

but it does look like a copy n paste job - the qlink sliders and the pads appear to be tilted to the left but the controllers on the right appear to be photographed directly from the top...

The sampling engine is still only 16bit/44.1 - Ha! The 2kxl and Z-series combo would leave that thing in the dirt

Looks attractive but com on, the specs aint really competing with anything out there.

Hmmmmmm

Looks good. I don't know if I believe it, no one will know for sure until it's on Akai's website. I would get it brand new if it came with keygroups. But hey, if it's real, I'll switch my mpc1000 for it.

actually, this appeared in the "off topic" first.

also there is a bigger picture on this thread.

I mentioned this in the other thread about this. But why wold they keep their sequencing note capacity at 100,000 like the 1k. when in fact this is suppose to be some kind hybrid in between the 200xl & 4000.Which both the 4k & 2kxl have note capacities of 300,000 , and this is suppose to be an upgraded 2kxl. Something rubs me wrong about this. I'm starting to think this is fake. :?

i just wrote a post in the off topic section about this......

here it is:

I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH AKAI, UP IN RODE ISLAND. WHAT EVERYONE READ AND SAW IS TRUE 100%. THE MPC2500 IS THE REAL DEAL AND WILL BE THE CROSS BETWEEN THE 2XL AND THE 4000. LEAVING THE 1000 AS THE ENTRY LEVEL LITTLE BROTHER.

THIS IS WHAT MY CONTACT OVER AT AKAI HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE 2500 (i sent him the pic and the spec sheet that is on this site and he came back with corrections/adjustments to it)

Sup sparq?

Yep. That’s the beast. Specs look correct.

You can add a CDRW/80GBHard Drive

Comes standard with 8+2 outs (10)

2midi in 4 midi out

Expandable to 128mb of RAM (way more than 32mb of the MPC2k)

(same ram as the 1K)

Compatible with pretty much every format.

I don’t know who your supplier is, but he did his homework!

Thanks bud.

if anyone has any questions (reasonable questions) about this, let me know and i'll see if i can get a response.

oh, by the way.... an os update for the 1000 looks like it will not happen until either the end of this year or the beginning of the 1st quarter 2006

might not get an answer for this one, but does he have any idea how much this is going to cost? I'm assuming somewhere between the prices of the 4000 and the 2000xl

Prob, hint MPC 2000xl, 2500, 4000. Also, Maybe it replace the 2k but who knows. In my opinion I think its cool and everything, just another toy that I want, But I think The 1k is good for me so Im happy. Thats strange how they got rid of there new blue color.
