Jenre wrote:might not get an answer for this one, but does he have any idea how much this is going to cost? I'm assuming somewhere between the prices of the 4000 and the 2000xl

this is an approximation from akai. $2199USD MSRP so my guess it will be around $1800 - 1900USD

hmm, that'd work out just over a grand over here. Plus we usually have to pay a little more anyway in the UK.

For what I need, the MPC1000 kills it. I use a computer too, so all the other things the MPC2500 can do don't thrill me too much. (Give us zoning on the 1000 though, please). Plus the MPC1000 is small enough to fit in my bag along w/ my laptop. The price difference is too much for me. But it does look cool overall.

it is coming out after the new year. still in development - akai
hopefully akai will also be generous enough to lower the price on the 4k or 2000xl or anything ,

I feel ya on that Tamim. I don't use my comp to create beats anymore. For me I'm fine with my mpc1k & ASR, but to each their own.

ummm, 'Akai blue' sucks. period. i'd say it's legit. never would've believed it, but that's almost 'too good' of a photoshop job to be fake. i'd be suprised if this isn't announced at Winter NAMM. looks friggin' beautiful.

the 100,000 note sequencer does sound odd though.

and the goofs at futureproducers.com are dumber than half the people here. they've always been a pack of fools...

you can't ignore that, and the picture looks great, almost too god for a photoshop.
either way, im not taking a stand at this point.

i'm telling you. i got my information straight from someone at Akai/Numark/Alesis, today on the phone as well as email. and he told me they will launch it this year. i didn't get my info from gearjunkies or future producer.

i don't care, i am just gonna buy an sp-404 to go with the 1000 and i am happy....that too has real-time, time stretch! plus those features arent even as cool as the mv8000s, but i'm still going to be married to my bluebox.
