Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By antiswing Fri Aug 26, 2005 10:52 pm
The lines appearing on the display of the MCP2000 is a famous problem. I've read that new display's can be bought on the internet but before I buy a new one I'd like to learn about the origin of the problem...

Can anybody tell me something about that? I don't want to waste $150 or more on a display which will be broken as quick as the one I have now...

thanx

Yeah those MPC2000's good for that. If its in good shape and only has a few lines u could probaly sell it on here, locally, or Ebay and get some cash to get a MPC2000XL . You will have to add some extra money so if u dont have the money saved then dont sale it until you can get another one.

Does anyone ever turn down thier contrast to help the screen last longer? I got my contrast WAY down (the text looks grey, not blue or even black) and I'm hoping this will help prolong thelife of my screen. Anyone have any feedback on this?

i have a lone stripe that pops up every now and then.
back in the day i used to leave my 2000xl on for days.
i know, i know.. i didn't know any better back then
sometimes the line is there and sometimes it's not, glad it's only 1 though

I had my XL for like 5 years. Purchased new. I have no problems with the screen. i think you just need to be careful with the way you take it out. Either to the studio and back. And, don't leave it on over night. I try not to be lazy with it. I save when I'm done.

alot of peeps i hear leave em on unattended for durations at a time. ive always save then power down when im not using it, cause i know dem lcd's dont last forever. and precious mpc screen viewing hours are going to waste.
