Try formatting your drive under NTFS or FAT32

That usually works for me!!!

Keep in mind an NTFS formatted disk won't work in a mpc

So where was this post supposed to go?

excuse me for interrupting ...

but are you saying that the 4000 accepts both fat32 AND ntfs HARD DRIVES?

its just ive got a z4 and an mpc2000xl and wished to use an existing hard drive for my z4 thats freshly ntfs formatted from my pc,

but i suppose that wont work in the mpc, so i gotta get a new one for the mpc i suppose?
