the mastering suite on the mv is tweakable. i've never used one but i was at a sam ash where a roland rep was demo'ing the mv

Hey Sparq....how does it compare in size to the 1k? Im'a sucker for small useful gear! :D

By sparq Wed Aug 31, 2005 7:37 pm
it's going to be a bigger than the 1k but smaller than the 2k/xl

this is the size of the 1k:

H x W x D: 4.17” x 15.945” x 8.985”

this is the size of the 2500:

H x W x D: 3.68" x 16.33"x 13.10''

As long as it has the GRID EDIT mode. It can really be the center piece of a studio.
On my mpc1k there is really no possible to do any elaborate edit fast and convenient.

I don't produce hip-hop. but breakbeat/dnb mostly, sometimes it is hard do the messed-up beats in realtime @ 170BPM. That's why the GRID is important to me.
by the way, mpc sounds PHAT,and it is far more stable than a computer, that's why I like to use it.

Oh well. chopper will be extremely useful too. And so as something like LFO/Harddisk....

========

Anyones knows that the GRID works with pads numbers only or there will be another mode that uses midi notes (like pianorolls in softwares)?
I do hope that it is just according to pad numbers, and pads' midi notes controlled by programs as old mpcs.
I really don't want to mess my brain with these kind of meaningless 2 modes.

I see a lot of people commenting on how nice it looks. :?

For real, I think it's the ugliest MPC out there.

I like the color too. But I think it looks really archaic.

one thing i dont like is the jog wheel. it looks like cheap plastic. im sure its not, but looks like it

one of yall actually have this thing? or is it not available yet...i havent read this post until now

By sparq Wed Aug 31, 2005 8:06 pm
the jog wheel is the same as the 1000 and no, akai didn't unveil it yet. it will be available in the next couple of months

By cooocooo1 Wed Aug 31, 2005 8:08 pm
judging from the pic, the jog wheel is exactly the same as the 2kxl which would make it cheap plastic
