Discuss the various methods you use in music production, from compressor settings to equipment type.

I'm trying to sample some sounds from my computer and then put them on my MPC only when I try to convert the Windows PCM .wav files that I created with cool edit pro or soundforge using Wav2Snd it always produces the .snd file but its speed up. I'm assuming this has something to do with Wav2Snd and its ability to only convert a certain kind of PCM .wav file.

Has anyone encounter this? is there another program that I can use to create/convert my PCM .wav files in a way that Wav2Snd won't speed it up?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

your wavs are at a different sampling rate than 44.1k most likely.

Here theres a link to the file I'm trying to convert, and then when it converts (even using awave) what it gives me as an output.

This is just part of a song I took for an example, I created this using Cool edit pro saved in Windows PCM format:
http://members.shaw.ca/atmosphere/convert1.wav

Then the .snd file it produces using either Awave or Wav2Snd:
http://members.shaw.ca/atmosphere/convert2.snd

Any help is greatly appreciated this problem is driving my nuts.

Ok so on a few wav files that came with my MPC that will convert in wav2snd I looked at their properties then compared with my wav file there was a diffrence:

This is from a wav that WON'T convert

Bit Rate: 1141 kbps
Audio Sample Size: 16 bit
Channels: 2 (stereo)
Audio Sample rate: 44Khz
Audio Format: PCM Audio

Then from a wav file that will convert to .snd properly:

Bit Rate: 705 kbps
Audio Sample Size: 16 bit
Channels: 1 (Mono)
Audio Sample rate: 44Khz
Audio Format: PCM Audio

So I guess that answers my question on whats causing this (I hope) but now I need to figure out how get Cool edit or Awave to convert these wav files to a Mono channel.....any ideas?

Why don't you just use the Windows PCM .wav files in your MPC? Create them at 44.1 and then you should be able to load them directly, no?
