I cant get that video cos im at work but I reckon I hold my own playing drums on the pads... Ill upload a video soon..
I been haning to do a gig where there is a live drummer so I can have a Vs sesh... I can do anything you can do...
hehehe

nah but im getting really good, love the mpc flam....
BTW...

my setup
1. kick 2. kick. 3. closed hat.
5. snare 6. snare 7. open hat. 8 closed hat.
that the basics.... that way I can do hats at the same time as doing kick... like I hit the kick and hats with my second and third finger on my right hand and then my left is for snare....
as well as double hits on the bass and hats cos they doubled...
like bass kick da doom while still keeping that hats up... il just film it 2nite....

I never thought I'd tour Europe tapping around on a little box, but let me tell you, it's easier than lugging a drum kit around.

As well as holding down beats, I trigger sound fx, musical phrases, and various samples as well. I don't use the sequencer at all.

I really can't give you tips on how to set up. It's very personal....just whatever is comfortable for you. I've talked to Jel (who is a pioneer at rocking the MPC live, and has filled in for me in General Elektriks) about it before, and he sets up totally different than I do.

Here's a little video of me tapping out some beats. Sorry for the craap quality - it was shot with a Digital Elph.

Hey CToon,
The touring cycle for my bro's record is over in France. We had been supporting that record for quite a while, and just played our last shows there in June.
Now, his record has just been released in the US on August 23, so hopefully we'll be playing shows in The States by the end of the year.
It'll have to wait though, cuz my friend is on tour with another group right now through the end of September.
Keep that beer cold though, we'll get to it sometime.

CT, what I meant by "the touring cycle is 'over' in France" is that it's finished.
The French label supported the record for quite a while, but for now the touring in France is finished (until next record.)
Next stop....USA.

PS- Damnit! I really want that R.Kawasaki record you've got on your desk there. It keeps slipping through my fingers. Got an extra copy?
