i have an extra screen for when it gets unbearable, but im shook about replacing it

It shouldn't be hard to change. Go for i. That's the only way your going to learn. Just be careful and remember the steps when you take it apart. I do everything myself. I put my memory, 8 outs, And internal scsi drive

$140 or so...back then..
works fine..

...keep the contrast at between 50-70% or so IMO. Full blast looks bad and uses up life and lower than 50% is bad for the opticals. I recommend around 65% brightness or so. I'd rather wear out a 2000 screen than my vision ya know! Just a little common sense PSA.
