Just had a go of an SP-404

What does that subsonic effect do exactly.

I hear this drumloop and bass, but don't hear the connection between them

The bass is made from the subsonic effect. It wasn't there before.

have you used the 1000 yet to control your pads using the midi out function?

did anyone notice that silver thing next to where you plug the ac adapter into. it looks like the thing you use to ground a turntable..

The SP 404 is sick. I heard it's gonna drop in the UK between Sep 19th - Nov 2nd. I already placed my deposit for one.

I'm gonna use that on the road and for live gigs and then hook it up to an Mpc2000xl at home!

Yeah its a ground for a turntable.....yep its sick!

I'm thinking of using the M-Audio trigger finger to trigger the pads and tweak the effects, and then also use it with Ableton live.

I think a combination of the two would fit together nicely!

I got a couple of questions:

Do you have to rename the samples on the card? On the 303 you'd have to rename every .wav or .aif to smpl001.wav 002 003 etc.

How does the compact flash card structure look like? Like, its got 10 banks, are they all divided into a map 'A', 'B', 'C' and so on? Like you can place 12 samples in each map?

When turning on for instance the filter effect, tweak it a bit by turning the knobs, and then turn it off, and later on you'd turn it on again, which settings does it use? The one's with the tweaking or the standard ones as they are when u just put the 404 on?

Are the pads velocity sensitive (yeah i know but just to be sure)

If your playing one pattern, you can already set the next one up by pushing it and it waits till the first one ended and then switches automaticly to the next one. Can you do that without having to wait? Like the 'sudden' in the sequence screen on the mpc1000.

Is the bpm looper effect stereo or mono, and is it 44khz or lo-fi? If u use the effect on a panned track, is everything still right in place?

Can u pan samples?
