Sound Leveling ??

so when i make a beat it sounds like everythang is way to loud if i turn my stero up the kikz make my speakers pops and crak could yall give me som tips on where you place you sounds at on the internal mixer of da MPC? it would help alott, cause when i make a beat and turn it up it don't bang lik otha beats do it's more of a pop and crak sound.

I keep all of my drum sounds panned at 12:00. If they sound to crowded when used together in a sequence I adjust the faders until it sounds balanced.

Kicks, Snares, Toms - I always make sure these sounds are at the same level and louder than the rest of my drum sounds.

Hi Hats - I always make the open hi hats louder than the closed ones.

Rides, Cymbals - The rides and cymbals that sound like they were hit on the cup will be louder than the ones that sound like they were hit on the tip. I also make the rides and cymbals louder than the open and closed hi hats.

It's not how loud they are, its that they don't hit hard enough, so to get them to hit, you gotta turn up the volume. This either pushes your speakers too hard, and will damage them, or it causes the signal to be clipped, and will make your drums sound like a bowl of rice crispies. To get your drums to hit harder without increasing the volume, look into layering your drums with multiple sounds.

you need a dose of compression
