Shuggie Otis is great, great shtt.


....but I don't think his music is really "jazz."

i have (i think) 3 records (from 68-74), the best is the Boots and Roots EP that is really one of my favorite jazz records of all time. great musicians, im pretty sure that jukka tolonen is a featured player on some of his funkier records.

the group I mentioned as my current favorite, Catalyst, released all 4 of their Muse albums on a CD comp a few years ago. for those not familiar with this CD here's a link:

yeah i wouldn't really look for it in the jazz section either,
but some of his more mellow tunes do have a very jazz-y feel to them.
