What is the average learning curve for a MPC2000XL newbie?

Im just asking for the learning curve to learn the machine, not everything else like MIDI, etc.

Not sure. I mean ive been making beats for about 5 months before i got the mpc and it was like living in a new country...

Not to difficult, im still learning things, but for the most part shit is pretty easy...

Its pretty dam easy thing to use

make sure you read the manual with the MPC right there in front of you..!!!

Then Re-Read it, Over and Over till it sinks in...and you will be a wizard..!!!

the problem with the manual. is it doesnt tell you the specific details and the tips and tricks most people need to know.

It also depends on whether you have a musical background and what your experience is.
Do you play another instrument already? Have you ever owned a drum machine before?
These things will effect your curve time.

I have had plenty of experience with drum machines and instruments, but I am STILL learning sh!t each day on the MPC.....and I've had it almost a year now. The basics of the machine are pretty simple, but if you want to go deep - this machine will go pretty deep.

i had my mpc for like 5-6 months, but didn't really use it until a few months ago cuz i had no money to get anything to use it with. but now that i am really into i learn new things everday. and before the mpc i had no experience with any drum machines, hardware, software, or any ways of making music. so i guess you can say it is a pretty easy machine to learn once you get the basics down.

I also had a couple of machines years before the MPC, the ASR10 and Roland R-8 taught me 80% of everything I know and I used that when I got my XL. So it depends like Itchy said.
