gettin my microkorg to play along with my MPC 2000xl

I just bought a microkorg i hooked it up to my mpc thru midi. I got it to record what i was playing but it wont play over my mpc sequence it will play the pattern back just on the microkorg. I have a fostex digital mulitracker do i need to hook anything into that. can anyone help me?

How is it hooked up?

Had a similar problem with MIDI last week - you need a send and receive channell to and from your external device - i.e MIDI out from MPC to device, and MIDI out from device back to MPC

Do you have both Audio sourcesin a mixer, so you can listen to both at the same time?
Because MIDI is only data, it's not Audio.
Hook both up to your Fostex, arm the tracks and see what happens.
I hope this is kinda what you were lookin for.
And remember the Micro can only play back one patch at a time, so you will have to overdub all your micro tracks.
