My question is, are these cd rom drives DVD-R compatible? I know it's not likely, provided that the average scsi cd rom drive might not be cd/dvd rom compliant. Thought I'd ask just incase that option is out there. Also for those of you using this combo already, what ID channels would they run off? I currently have my zip drive on 5 and before I take that leap was wondering how you guys chain your set up from your first piece to the terminate piece. If I forgot anything important pleas fill me in. By the way I'm using the MPC 2000XL

THANX in advance!

IF the drive is CD-ROM then it can only work with CD-ROM.
If you have a drive that's DVD_ROM it will work with both CD and DVD.

CD is a step below DVD so the CD drive will not work with DVD disks.
DVD is a step up from CD and is backwards compatible with CD/CDR/CDRW disks..

As for hooking up DVD scsi to MPC I wouldn't know if it worked
or not, sorry.

Thanx for the feedback, I already knew about the drives CD rom vs Dvd rom I was just hoping that some DVD-R compatible were out there at resonable prices. From time to time I use DVD-R disc for data storage. 4.7GB beats the hell out of 700Mb, I got a couple sample CD's I made and saved on DVD-R. I guess I'll just have to reburn some, no problem.

Now I just need some feedback on the chaining order and device IDs'. Anybody?
