elllo!
I need to get a turntable for sampling, I'm not a dj so I won't be doing much scratching...
I'm thinking of getting the Stanton STR8-30.
Do you think this will do?

It's cheap and direct driven....

Peace!

For sampling alone its fine. In fact, you could get away with spending less if you wanted.

I have a Stanton STR8-30, and I use it for sampling....Works great and i've had it for years...Actually, I've scratched on it too...it worked good enough for some dope hooks...

unless you have or are getting a DJ mixer you should get one of the models with a line level out, that way you can connect it direct. Unless your sampler has a phono preamp built in.

good point el. The upper level stantons like the str8-80 and the str8-100 have digi outs so u can just hook it right up. I would advise getting a DJ mixer anyways though so u can have basic eqs to use while sampling along with being able to setup the str8-30. Its worth it.

I've been using it for years. Just for recording into the computer to convert to CD, not for sampling.

yup, stanton srt8-80 has spdif outputs, very convenient

It's all about the cartridge you get for it - that's the biggest determining factor as far as sound quality goes.

Wow... You gotta love this forum! Cheers for the quick replys!!

I'm sampling into my 3kle or my s950.... so I guess digital out would be great when sampling to the 3k le, but for the s950 i'll need that mixer, right?

There is a stanton with digital out thats cheaper than the str8-80, but do you think i should spend mi money on the digi outs or on a dj-mixer?

Peace!

the 80 also has line outs so theres no need for a mixer
