How to connect!

This is my propblem My set-up is!

Motif-6
ASR-10 Keyboard
16+ rack
Logic 5.5
MPC-1000

How can I make all this work together? I want the MPC to be the master clock for everything. Sample in the ARS-10, 16+ is for sample drums! Logic is where I'll master everything for final. How can I pull this off, and what more do I need to buy?

plug ur midi in/out to ur interface

set the 1000 to send clock via a or b (midi options)

set logic to sync externally (dont have logic 5 so cant help u here)

and SELL ME THAT ASR 10 which presumably u connect its midi out to mpc in and the audio out to _________ that

only jokin cant help no more, dont know what a motif or rack is. i presume ones an interface of some sort

Go and learn about MIDI....not a diss...it will help you understand how to connect and use your equipment properly...

Asking us how to hook up ya gear is not a good look...just cause you got a 1000....nah mate come better than that....

I'll sell you my ASR, I have 3 of them! But answer the last response, I'm new to this MPC thing! I can rock the same beat
as the MPC with my Motif Keyboard! I will admit, the timing can't be beat, but when you know your gear, you just know your gear.
I don't need gear to make me tight, The beat is already tight in my mind! So back the question @ hand! How can I get the best from my MPC in my setup?

its not just a case of how u can get the best out of your MPC setup, its a case of will this setup allow you to do what you want to do in the way you want to go about it?

Anyway, So what I am saying makes some physical sense to you...let me add...

A structured and organised way to work would be to...

Have you MPC1000 as your Master Sequencer...This being connecting your MPC OUTS to your External Synths.. Keybaord, Gear Etc, baring n mind sometimes you might want to play some chords etc so have the Keyboard OUT going into the MPC as well.

Now so that you can track your near or close finished beat for further eq, mixing, vocals etc, have logic 5.5 running out ya Midi interface into the MPC1000 so that it can control the MPC sync clock. this way you can have other stuff with the track as mentioned like vocals or other sounds.

this will enable you to track audio in time also. and if you ever need to make changes you wont need to edit massive bits to get it to sound right.

I work this way my self with Cubase and I find it to be a very flexible and easy way to do what I want to do..

BTW, I have purposely wrote this in a vague manner for I am assuming you understand in detail how this can actually work..
