On my mpc1k there is really no possible to do any elaborate edit fast and convenient.

I don't produce hip-hop. but breakbeat/dnb mostly, sometimes it is hard do the messed-up beats in realtime @ 170BPM. That's why the GRID is important to me.
by the way, mpc sounds PHAT,and it is far more stable than a computer, that's why I like to use it.

Oh well. chopper will be extremely useful too. And so as something like LFO/Harddisk....

Anyones knows that the GRID works with pads numbers only or there will be another mode that uses midi notes (like pianorolls in softwares)?
I do hope that it is just according to pad numbers, and pads' midi notes controlled by programs as old mpcs.
I really don't want to mess my brain with these kind of meaningless 2 modes.

Hi Everyone,

Does anybody know EXACTLY what Groove Edit is. Has anybody spoken directly with Akai on this?

Are we sure it isn't the Drum Grid that is built into the MPC 4000 like the Drum Grid? Or is it something that you can use the PADS to do X0X style sequencing. There is no definition given in any of the specs on what Grid Edit is? Of course we've been asking forX0X style sequencing to Akai for the MPC4000 but I was just wondering if this is them actually implementing it into an MPC product....

Thanks

Dave

metafor wrote:It looks like they downgraded the sequencer capacity for notes from 300,000 on the 2000xl, 4000 to 100,000 like on the 1k. I wonder why they would do that if its the 2500. One would think they would at least keep the same note capacity as the 2000xl. Man you guys thought the 1k was sellin for cheap now, wait unitl this thing comes out. Man ppl will be ditching their gear left and right.

and i cant wait

Peace,

If this joint is worth it. I will be adding it to my studio. I was debating on trading my 2K classic for the XL, and even adding the 1k to the lab for traveling. But this joint looks like it can full fill all my needs in one. I'll be looking forward to test it out when they demo it at a music store here in the H. I'm loving that jet black color, plus the flip screen, joint is hott looking.
