I know there aint a funtion for pitchshifting into different notes on the XL, like the chromatic function...
but im planing on pitch shiftin on the computer. so I just want to know how many cents pitchshift u have to add to get the next note..
like if I have a note thats a straight C, and I whant the note next to it, how much do I have to pitch shift it?
This is tough becasue some notes are 20 semitones between, and some are 10. For example, Going from C to D is 20, but going from E to F is only 10. Basically, it should be 20 if there's a black key in between the 2 and 10 if not.
This should be accurate:
G1=-50
A1=-30
B1=-10
C2=0
D2=+20
E2=+40
F2=+50
Correct me if I'm wrong bro but in music theory I was taught that a semitone is the smallest interval between keys. I.e. from one key to the one directly next to it (be it a black or white key) would be one semitone.
Therefore, from C to C sharp is one semitone. From C to D is two semitones, i.e. a 'tone'. One tone is two semitones.
And there are 100 cents in one semitone.
Hope that wasn't too complicated without soundin patronising!
