808 kick

I now this is a newb question that's why i'm posting it in this section. i know most cats here make their own 808 kicks,and i think this can be done with adobe audition.but how does one do it what do you have to start with?

most people sample them. there are tuns of free 808 kits for dowload all over the internet also.

find the kits for the mpc1000 on the akaipro site. there is a 808 kit on there.

U Should Find PLENTY...................................

You can create a 808 deep bass kick or short bass kick from a pure sinewave, generated in the menu in adobe audition and/or sound forge.

Pitch down the sinewave and have it long and fading out for the long deep bass.

Same thing but cut it short for the shorted kick bass drum.

Or you can download 808 sounds from everywhere on the net.

Thanks lamp thats what i was looking for.I have tons of 808 that i downloaded they just don't have that deep low end that i'm looking for thanks

This is a good way to create your own 808 style kicks...

Excerpt from a Keyboard (10.97) interview with DJ Shadow...

"What I do a lot of times on the 3000 is, if the break doesn’t have enough bump in it, if it’s not quite deep enough and doesn’t have enough punch in the bass, I’ll copy the bass [drum] pad and run the filter down to, like, 10, so it’s all bass. Then run it simultaneously with original. I might give it some reverb too, which gives it a kind of 808 feel."
