look, the timestretch works like this...

If you are looping a sound, and you have already matched the tempo, but your drums will not line up, you need timestretch. What it will do is stretch the sample to match the tempo, without altering the tune or pitch. For example, say your tempo is at 88.0, but the actual sample's drums (if there was drums in the sample already) are too fast, you go to the timestretch function. First thing you wanna do is determine what kind of sample you have...If it is a female voice sample or a male voice that is sped up, use the option of FEM VOX (A, B, or C...C is the highest quality one) It will start at 100.00. *Note*- there may be some trial and error involved...If you put it at 98.00, you are stretching the sample to 98% of it's original speed. (or vice-versa, 105.00 is 105% of the original speed) This will slow it down, but it will not change the pitch. Now, you replace the original sample with the new one you just stretched, and see if it worked. If it is still too fast, try 97.00, 96.00, etc. However, if you stretch it too much, it will distort your sample very badly. If you read your manual it is all there, you just have to learn to experiment and in time, you will begin to understand all of the functions...But, honestly, I never understood timestretch for like the first year and a half of owning my xl...But, I hope this helps you...
