Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By head034 Wed Sep 07, 2005 4:03 pm
Has anyone ever seen an MPC LCD a different color other than blue? I think I seen a vid on the net where some had an orange screen.

Blue?? The background of the LCD on my 2kXL is white. Personally I prefer green, think it's much more clear.

Actually i was, if possible, trying to see if any one has a clue to if this is possible..I would prefer green myself..seems a little easier on the eyes..

You can install a different backlight into your LCD. I plan to do this (because my LCD isn't too bright anymore), when I have the time and money.

You can buy such backlights here (Europe) or here (America)

Good luck!

The famous website Backlights.co.uk does not longer exist...

Fortunatly, I just heard this site has been moved. (The site is a little weird, tho...)

Hope this helps.

Hey guys, here is a cheap way to add color to your mpc.

1. Go to your local car customs shop
2. Ask for some tint
3. Apply some water mixed with detergent to the film. Also clean the screen surface of your mpc thoroughly (this is important to avoid imperfections)
4. Apply the film to the mpc following along with an even piece of plastic (like a credit card) as you lay down the film slowly.
5. Apply the plastic to the screen to iron out any creases or bumps.
6. Viola!! color screen!!

I tinted my screen a light brown because my eyes are sensitive to the bright lcd but you can do whatever color you can find. It's easy to test the color first before applying it on. If you make a mistake there is no need to worry because it is easily reversible. You can always take off the tint and start a new.
