use cool edit. you dont even need to find the tempo with cool edit, its trial and error a few times, before long you get it down to a science. learn your equipment

Melodyne is a far better way to do this. No choppin' or using the original tune period.
No program can touch Melodyne when it comes to extracting BPM from vocals.
