MPC 1000 sequecner capacity

has anyone noticed yet that the, sequencer capacity on the new MPC is 100,000 notes, where as the 2000XL has 300,000.

Obviolsy 100,000 thousand is still a lot, but I know controller data can eat it up.

Just hope the MPC 1000 has enough for a live show.

why havent akai given the 1000 the same capacity as the 2000XL!?

This is gonna make me get a 2000XL instead, I can get a fully expanded XL (second hand) for less than a 1000 so im gonna go for that.

The same reason why it has a few less sampling options. To "dummy it down".

well yeah makes sense really, paves way for the MPC 2500 (if its not just vapour-ware) I suppose + gives them scope for a 1000Xl.

I think its a big thing tho, the 2000XL having 3 times the sequencer capacity, I suppose it only makes a differnce for live performance tho, you can obviously just load another zip in the studio, but I can imagine running out on stage, esp since I use a lot of controler data.

The smaller sequencer capacity should not matter because the MPC1000 has something that is missing from the MPC2000XL -- CompactFlash memory. This type of storage is many times faster than a Zip drive. You can fully load the MPC from the CF card, use all of it, and then load another full set of data very quickly. The MPC1000 was made for portability. Its features will work perfectly on stage.

No one seems to be complaining about the MPC3000's 100,000 note capacity or the MPC60's 75,000 note capacity. No sure why all of a sudden it is not enough.

Yeah, it's strange isn't it? They'll trade down to an MPC60 but the 100,000 note limit of the MPC1000 is too much to handle. I suppose that if AKAI had designed the MPC1000 with 300,000 note capacity someone would have asked, "Why didn't they increase it to 500,000?"

Well, like I said, the CompactFlash is fast, so you can reload the MPC1000 quickly.

Im slighly pissed its out speced by the 1000 which costs less than the one I bought fully loaded second hand...

Im gonna be even more pissed if there really is a 2500xl which is multi timberal and 256mb ram...

Done it. On the MPC3000, MPC2000 and MPC2000XL. Note capacity has never been an issue, even limited to 100,000 events.
