I recently got the 8 outs and notice that the mixer, when at default levels (max), boosts the signals quite a bit compared to the same sounds coming out of the stereo outputs. Why is that?

(I was getting alot of extra static noise when I noticed this, so thats why I'm asking. Though that noise was most likely in the sample itself rather than coming from the hardware. I have to do the same thing with a nice clean sample to test it out when I get home tonight.)

Peace

You probably got the signals combined (assigned to stereo outs and Individual outs) Check channel settings - 'Open window' from mixer screen.

Nah I don't think so. I muted the stereo outs on my mixer while playing through the 8 outs. I'll double check though.

The samples are probably coming out distorted on your 8 output expansion board. The signal comes out hotter because they are individual outputs - its an electronics thing.

Resistors and what not - but nevertheless lower the volume from the individual output mixer in the MPC.
