Hi, I've been using the above happily for about 10 months now and have become fairly accomplished at making my own music. I have just picked up a bargain PC on e-bay (2.8Ghz, 1Gb ram, 438Gb Hard Disk space, and an M-Audio Delta 1010lt Sound card).

My problem now is combining my existing setup with the pc. I would like to eliminate the Tascam as it does not belong to me and mix all my instruments on the computer. I haven't any software but was thinking along the lines of Cubase or Reason as I have previously used both these applications.

My sound card has 8 analogue inputs and outputs amongst other things like midi which I have already implemented. Any suggestions as to what might be the best arrangement for my gear with or without the Tascam and what software might get the best out of what I have:?:

Shouldn't this be in the Newbie forum or something? Just because there is an MPC equipment list does not mean it it MPC related.

We could remove the MPC from the list and replace it the MV-8000 and it would not change the answer. It fails the "MPC technical" forum test.

Maybe I'd get more help on the MV-8000 forum!

You already seem to have everything exept for something to record. There are dozens of programs for pc that will replace your Tascam, but it's hard to decide for someone else.
I always recommend trying out some free versions or demo's first before spending cash, but since you've already used Cubase that might be a good start. The recent versions of Cubase sx are pretty good, and will run happily on your pc.
Reason is cool, but for what you want to do Cubase would be better IMO.
If most of your songs are based on loops Ableton Live might be worth a try too.
If you're on a budget and don't need more than 8 tracks for now, ProTools free will work.
