Changing sample rate from 44 to 96kHz

After connecting my new MPC4K to my pc (with good results) I had the idea to check the Global function and noticing that the sond sampling rate was 44khz I changed it to 96, a window appeared with the message something like "Are you sure..............All memory will be erased" since my Segate 80gb HD was just formatted and empty I committed the changes and it switched off, since then, when I switch on it stays on the opening screen. Any ideas on how to reset it? Or who can service the 4k here in the UK?

Didn't find any info or help on the manual.

It sounds to me like you're completely incompetant.

I suggest you take your MPC4000 back to the shop
and try something less technical like a tambourine or sthg.

You sound like you have an intimate relationship with the 4000! Please help, have recently installed a cdrw on it but it doesn't reckon' it as such?
What am i doing wrong?

See if you can change the time in the Global Mode. If when you reset, the time resets back to it's original value, you have a bad circut board. The machine will have to go back. I had this problem when I received my machine....I knew you could switch sampling from 41 to 48 but 96?

Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread, but I just received a 4K from overseas I purchased on Reverb which was said to be 100% functional. It seems to function normally so far (but I haven't done much with it yet) othet than that I cannot change the sampling rate or date/time. The previous poster in this thread suggested this could indicate a bad circuit board. Has anyone else here had this problem and if so, was it in fact due to a bad board? Has anyone ever recovered from a bad board? Thanks
