slowing down a session

im runnin ptle on the mbox, got this artist that always wanna slow it down. is there a way to do this in ptle without having to go back to the MP? Im working with audio. any help or tricks i will greatly appreciate.

na time stretch it, not sure if PT has it but sound forge or whatever should.

slow down the whole beat down (bpm)?
use the the tempo on mpc.

screw it, slow it down? if it is tracked out on pt you can "screw"
each track or if you have just one stereo file you can screw that as well.

try both, one of them should make the emcee happy.

douple click on the file you wanna time compress> click on the AudioSuite tab> click on the Time Compression Expansion effect> double click on the Tempo Source> type in the current tempo source of the track> hit enter> double click on tempo destination> type in the tempo you want the track to be> hit enter(make sure to hit enter or the tempo will jump back to the source tempo)> click on process

all that said, Id retrack the whole thing at the tempo you want it at instead of timestretching it

Not everything will be perfect the first time or the first few times, you goota take time to tweak it just right or as close as you can get to making your ears happy witht he sound. Take your time.

Listen to other songs or some ambient music/sounds and give it a rest for a few minutes/hours. Then go back and tweak some more.

i hate it when i have to do this...

that's why i mostly rap over my own beats....so many emcees are powerful SLOW!!!

You and me both. I like my own stuff more than anyone elses, for some reason I don't feel AT HOME if I'm not on my own track. There are VERY tracks from others that make me wanna rap but I still don't feel AT HOME.

THE ILLEST on my soundclick was a good example of one of my homeboys beats (DONJAY in the 4k forum) that moved me, I was comfortable with that track enough to do my rap thang.

You could import the track into Ableton Live or Melodyne and slow it down without changing the pitch. Quick. Easy.

Maybe you guys dont gel well....If he likes laid back down tempo tracks but u always give him that 'fire' either try and tailor make sumthing for him or tell him u dont have anything that fits his style. Its that simple...You cant satisfy everyone
