Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi,

I'm looking for help with my MPC 2000. First problem is that my Tracks seems to not remember the program I'm assigning. When I do Program Change in Step Editor it works correctly but when I want to use Track one as hi-hats Track two as Rhodes and so on it doesn't work and MPC is kind of forgetting which one is assigned. Is it my mistake or something is wrong?

Second problem is with soft through. I can communicate with gear in my chain. I wanted to send samples via Midi to my Machinedrum but it seems like MPC is not letting them through. Again, what might be the problem?

Thanks for any help
bye

I assume that you have a keyboard in your setup.

Sounds like your keyboard is in single/program/patch mode instead of multi/performance mode.

If I aint on the right track - give us some more details. Your problem description is kinda vague.

Peace

When you are sending the samples thru make sure the track on your main screen on the mpc is set to midi + the output your machinedrum is connected to.

Hi,

Soft Through. Yes, of course I'm on the same channel but that doesn't make any diffrence. I can buy a MIDI Merge box for that. That's a smaller problem.

First one, tracks. I have nothing connected to MPC at the moment. I've loaded 3 programs and gave Midi Program Numbers to them. Then I Put every program on a diffrent Track. Recorded notes for every Track within a one sequence and ended up with a sequence playing just one program.

Thanks for help.

"ended up with a sequence playing just one program. "

That is because the MPC2000 can only play ONE program at a time. Well, at least according to the manual I read.

There would be no use for tracks then...It supports it.

Really looks like it supports just One program. ****. Thanks for help.
