so far so good, one problem though

whenever i go to record mode, i get some crazy static.

the input is set at analog and its in stereo. this happens even when i'm not recording.

I can hear the static when i monitor the sound.

I searched the forum but didnt find anything.
and the Rec gain is all the way down
any suggestions?

thanks

actually you should just take it back. i just went to record mode, nothing but headphones pluged in and i didn't hear anything. probably got a bum machine.

i meant that the only thing plugged in to my mpc were the headphones, in the headphone input

yeah i updated the OS and no luck, i'm gonna send it back

i know, and i meant you can't record anything unless you have something goin into the inputs in the back to record from. even if you got a bad macine and you get a new one, if the only thing you got pluged in is da headphones, what do you think you are going to record?

I get this when I go into record mode, but I have my turntable hooked up to my guitar amp and the output from the amp in to the MPC. When I go to record mode, i get crazy ear piercing feedback. I turn the volume knob down on the MPC til the feedback disappears and bump up the record gain to about half way to sample.

Have you got the MPC hooked up to an external amp+speakers? Or is it feeding into the guitar amp too?

When you're recording, the MPC relays what it records to the outputs: it sounds like you're getting feedback.
