I've tried SMPTE, MIDI Clock and the other option. I've set the MIDI outs/ins to read from the interface in Adobe Audition. Still nothing..Am I supposed to be using SMPTE or what? I dont get how to set this stuff up. I've read the manual that came with it, I've read through the help in Adobe Audition on how to set it up to read the MIDI.

I press record in adobe audition and I thought the mpc was supposed to start playing. I just want to be able to sync my mpc with a.a. Damn I swear it shouldnt be this hard. is it just that easy? Plug in the cables to the interface, set up the midi options on the mpc and a.a...

The interface I bought was a cheap one. a MOTU Fastlane USB MIDI interface. Bought from zzsounds.com. Its a 2x2 interface. 2 ins 2 outs.

Remember when I said I used both of my OUTS on my mpc? Well I found out that I didnt need the B OUT. So I ran a cable from OUT B to interface IN A. Then a cable from interface OUT A to MPC IN 2. so I could do the handshake method.

Thats where I ran into problems. When the interface receives MIDI messages the light blinks to let me know it receives them. Well, when I press a pad the light dosnt light up. So its not receiving messages from my mpc. I press play or record in A.A. and I dont see the light either. so its not receiving from my computer either.

Here's what I thought was weird though...When I DIDNT use the OUT B on the mpc I was using the THRU from my JV module then pressed a pad, the interface lit up. It received the midi messages then! But only when I used THRU from my module....that was weird. but still not working from the computer. keep in mind my interface is USB. I hope that dosnt matter....

I set up A.A. to send/receive from the correct Ports. I tried using the SMPTE option, midi clock and the other option on the mpc. maybe i didnt try using midi clock from a.a. too? i dont know...but nothing worked.

They dont need to shake for sync/tracking purpose. Midi in 1 (MPC) - Midi Out A (Motu)

MPC set to midi clock - Sync in (in:1) if thats how u got it connected
Mode : midi clock...Thats MPC set.

That program, i dont use so I cant direct u to the menus, but u need to configure Midi device to send Midi Clock from Out A

In a round abouts way, thats it....Set tempos blah blah and hit play on the program

All the other stuff your trying is just smoke in your face. Get the sync working 1st

I think i detailed it right and in order. Hope u follow!

Have a look at the AA online manual if there is one
