How long is this to go on...for life? If you're gonna collect up front for recording services, why hit me on the back side as well? The big problem is that if your talent is stupid enough to sign on this level, they're probably too stupid to make it anyway. No disrespect intended...that is juat my initial reaction to your offer which is what I assume you want.
Ok man, I remember this post, so let me say(in my own defense)I was dead tired when I typed that post. There are some thing I could have corrected, but then some things will just have to be(because that's part of the industry).
500.00 is too high of a upfront price when I'm also receiving ass end too(pussy and ass, lol).
The type of performance royalities I'm talking about is FCC(radio and video). You get money for those spins. Get a book because I don't feel like explaining it to you.
As for album royalties, meant to say 50% of 10%(Example: 10.00/album 10% of that is $1.00. Now 50% of that dollar is $0.50/Record Sold/Track).
Mechanical royalties: That was only supposed to be for R&B co-writng and production services. I was planning only to ask for only 10%(I was really smoking something there). For the artists in my area, they could really use some artistic guidance(because they have little to none).
Mechandising royalties are the great unknown to amateur producers. If someone decide to let someone else use a song(that you made)and get paid for it, merchandising royalties are design to make sure the producer(who help make the song) gets money too(Rookies!). This also apply to sheet music or any way you can let someone use a song and get comphensation for it.
The PA copyright ownership split will stand. I did the musical backdrop and the artist did the lyrical part. Unless I'm writing hooks or whole songs, this won't change. Deal with it.
Like I said, I wanna get paid too. I'm lot gonna let an artist/group sell 1,000-10,000 records and let them pay me just 500.00 to own my work too.
F**k whut u thankin!
