If the 2500 really does start out with some rediculous sticker-shock price tag like that, nobody in their right mind is gonna buy it unless they got a ton of loot burning in their pockets (or their parents do). The average Joe makes up a large percentage of the market, so if the 2500 does sell for that much or even over $1999 USD (without the extras), it's gonna flop just like the DPS24 that put them under in the first place. Eventually they have no choice but to drop the price... especially when people are gonna be bitchin' about all the bugs that are anticipated. As much as I'd like to own one for the grid edit to bang out more complex rhythms in less time, I'm not even gonna condsider buying this unit for a long time after all this sh!t is taken care of. By then, Akai will announce the new 3500 or something.

From that video it seems like the MPC 2500 has some kind of hard drive recording system going on... means you can record vocals directly into it...

It was hard to get what they were talking about some of the time, but i think he was changed the timing value of the note repeat while using it. nice little feature.

synchronised delay. chopshop worked nicely from what i saw. real-time timestretch. damn, this is nice. haha, im trying not to get excited seeing as that guy reckons its retailing for £2000.

On the MPC 2500 video they should how Just Blaze gets his synth sound effect. According to the video the 4000 has that option.

holy crap! yes, finally real sweep-able manipulation with the sliders.

This machine is close to perfection for me.

u can sweep all filters on the 4k too.. with external controllers and/or with the onboard sliders & knobs
the only nice thing bout the two and a half is its design

$3,600 US Dollars? I can't see that as being true,
as you can buy a brand spanking new MPC4000 for
a couple grand, and even at stock prices, $3,600
would get you almost every option.
Maybe it's like a Sony PSP.
It's new, and it's not out yet, so you
COULD get one at that price, early.
They will realize that this won't fly
when used 4000s go faster off ebay than
the new units in their
inventory. Plus, it'll be just like the 4000:
