This is why I dig...

Went digging today two different places--the Salvation Army (okay, this really isn't digging) and a antique shop. Got a few records at the SA, but the real find was TWO--not one--but two 100mb zip drives for my MPC for 3 bucks. I was about to buy one for--what?--59 dollars.

Went to another spot and got a crate filled for ten bucks.

i'm goin outta town tomorrow and did a lil research before hand. bob moog's old turf, asheville, turns out theres 3 salvation armys, 3 goodwills, and like 10 other thrift shops. i got $100 and have a feelin i'm comin back with a trunk full a vinyl. salvation army is my local shop that lets me cop vinyl for a penny each.

I stopped by a thrift store the other day and all I found in the bins was a so so Atlantic Star 12, but on my way out I spotted a Commodore 64 for next to nothing. I've been looking for one on the cheap so I can take out the SID chip and build a MidiboxSID. Also found a sweet parts organizer cabinet for all my electronics bits.

Just one more reason to dig diggin

i found jazmatazz album on tape for 2 bucks at SA the otherday(wed)
also found tubular bells and some CTI jazz, wish the jazmatazz was vinyl though,

arocdadialectic does that zip work , i found a zip250 last month but theres soomething up with it. i hook'd it up to my comp and it say's it's a zip100 dont understand whats going on with it ,it's new practiclly the software and everything i open'd it.
i'm going to use it with my VS when i get off my lazyass to hook it up.

Tubular Bells is an incredible record. When you think that it came out in 1973 (the very first LP on Virgin Records), and one guy composed the whole thing, and played almost every instrument - overdubbing, and overdubbing.......and this is on tape, before our modern techniques - this just wasn't being done back then.
And to top it off, Mike Oldfield was only 18 YEARS OLD!!!!

His second album "Hergest Ridge" is one of my favorites of all time - I like it even a lot more than Tubular Bells.

Aaah, Mike Oldfield. That used to bring to tears (of joy) to my eyes when I was a teenager.
I'd never thought of sampling it though, good reason for me to dig up the album...

yeah it got very nice loops init that label is wierd two headed chicks maken an M with there legs and arms.

yeah that a brillant mind thats amazing he was very creative, yeah the music was advanced for the 70's.
