this part of the music industry is the funniest, da business.... straight up, 9 times out of 10, the same thing doesnt work for any person trying to make it in the business that makes it. The one thing we do know that works, is that if you get out there and hustle, build your crowd, build your sound, and make your people demand to see and hear you from more then just one area, such as in certain spots in certain areas around the country, and u can get ya sales poppin... also if you can make sure to keep ya sound out there, and let up and coming artist check out ya stuff, cause ya never know the man u didnt let check ya stuff out cause u was too busy thinkin he was a nobody was gone be the next signed artist. So make sure you keep open communications especially with artist, even the Bullsh..tters, cause yea, they sometimes make it too, so u just keep bullsh..ttin around wit em.
Now as far as the management part of the game, thats BS.....if you want some representation just to look good, go ahead, but they can make you look even stupider if they dont know the business, and most of the time they arent, if they aint already in the business... only righteous need for a Manager is mainly for Connections, if they dont have any, they cant do nonthing for you that you cant do yourself.
