$3,600 cant be the street price, you can get a 4k plus for like 2799!

It's gonna be $2k or less, this is a replacement for the 2KXL after all.

"Very, very powerful... very very exciting." Lol, what a fool. He didn't even demonstrate the piano roll and grid edit, which the main new additions over the 1k. And what happened to the white screen? That looked green to me. A pity.

Even though the guy from London said it would cost £2000 i'm seriously doubting that price. I reckon it will more likely be £1500-£1700. and thats retail price. I really cant see it going for a lot more than the mpc4000, although thinking about the newer technology and hype i can see it costing a little more than the 4k. crazy as that might be

It's so easy to get to this thread and talk/chat/ponder the 2500, why people keep coming with their OWN threads and posting everywhere else is beyond me, I've even said that I'll delete and/or lock and stray 2500 threads. I would like to have it ALL in one place, not because I SAY SO, that's not it, it's easier for people to find 1 MAIN thread than it is too find ALL of them just to search for 2500 info, AND I think some people are lazy and don't wanna go through the many pages of this thread to look for info.

i want that over my mpc4000.

I always luved my mpc2xl. And I luv the 4000. It seems like best of both worlds.

I like the fact that it has a media disk slot. Even though the 4k can handle usb plug in the front, its kind of weak.

The fact that it comes with 8 outs standard is really n ice.

It seems like an improved 2xl.

I already mentioned in the other MPC 2500 posts, that it will go for approx $2000. Much less than a new MPC 4000. Of course many in the forum will cringe at the price..because most of us are hobbyist that don't make money off of tracks. But if you are an MPC 2000/2000XL user and make moeny off of tracks..I doubt you will be disappointed with the 2500, which will be available next week (October for US customers).

It has way more features than any MPC ever made..with the exception of the MPC 4000..but it does have features that the 4000 doesn't have.

Moderators: Where will you place the MPC 2500 section in the forum? With the XL? With the 1000? By itself?

Where did you get this info from? The earliest I've seen is November.

I make it my business to find out these things..even though I admit that I have slipped and found out through other forums members that this was coming.

But I recovered quickly and got the scoop of shipping dates. It will drop in Japan next week on the 21st (where I am getting mine). And VST Service are taking orders as I type this. They will have some in October. But this will be a limited run so you will have to act quickly if you want one early...or just wait until the end of the year when it will be available widely.

I wonder what's up with this limited run. I'm in no hurry, for the reasons I previously mentioned. Besides, that limited run sounds sketchy as hell.

I didn't mean limited as in limited edition..or anything like that. Let me make this clear...

MPCs are used all over the world. Orders have been placed every where. Akai won't produce/ship thousands of units..just like no business is going to buy a hundred units. Each store may get/want only a few units. Depending on supply/demand.

I am suprised that the US is getting them so quickly. It took months before the 4000 and 1000 were available in the US.

I doubt it...they will only get about $700 minus eBay/Pay Pal fees..they won't have much to put towards the 2500. They still need to come up with another $1300 or so...
