the world ROM is really nice man, gotta whole load of nice sounds on it. lots of nice strings and plucked instruments.

the world ROM is pretty hard to come by these days. the last one i saw on ebay went for £157. i'll be very happy if i manage to get that much for it.

(just so you know i'm not just making up figures!)

it is a really good rom tho (IMO the best of all the emu roms - dunno why they discontinued it), all very usable sounds.

damn yeah, i think the ttm56 was the one i was thinking of. i saw a ttm54 going cheap and cos they look the very similar, thought that it was that one.

not too sure on the differrences between them, i'll check on Rane's site.

also, anyone got a Rane TTM54? If so, how durable are the faders on it?...

i'm not too sure if i want to spent the extra cash on a TTM56

54 is a solid mixer. a friend of mine has one, but regrets not spending the extra on the 56. the 56 has great sound quality, great eq's and faders that you will never have to replace (as they are magnetic). built like a tank.

that being said, i have a 56 and i love it.

i can get it to you for $580 (us dollars) + shipping and applicable import tax. a friend of mine has sold to 2 buyers in the uk and they are completely satisfied.

i've been using the kaoss pad (2) for a while now, and its realy cool for live gigs, but for studio purposes it sucks...it has 99 effects which 50% of them is LO-FI....for some effects it sounds real nice, but for like the delay, as soon as your original signal is gone and you want only the delay it sounds real poor...but i used to have a boss DD-20 which was superb so i guess i got spoiled by that thing.

Other downpoint is:

Have u ever touched an electric guitar? Its like when u just tap the strings with your skin, not playing the strings...u can hear this little rattle..tuk tuk tuk. The kaoss pad does the same thing, even when it's grounded (or how the **** its called anyway).

I'll make u a little videoclip showing some effects if you want to.
