Whenever Tutor creates a MPC 2500 forum, I'll move this thread on over to that forum. Then it's on ya dig.

Creation of the forum happens when Tutor says it happens, I can't call it.

I'm gettin it for sure. I'm also gonna hock my 4k. At least with the 2500, I can do everything that I would do with the 4k, PLUS be able to readily interchange my 1k programs. Best of both worlds. 8)

Na for real I'm converted to 3000 now but this looks like a nice toy!
Can't wait to test it at the nearest GC-equivalent.

I may be interested but we will see what they are costing and how glitchy they are. Definately being able to sample while the sequence is playing is a nice feature on a mpc.

I don't know why people keep going on like this is a new thing, the 1k can do it and always has been able to.

Question:

1. Anyone have any idea or guess how many audio tracks the MPC 2500 will be able to record ?

2. Can you sample from the CD drive ?

Not for sure..but they call this fiunction 'in track' sampling..so my best guess is 64..at least that is what I am hoping

It better sample from the CD drive, which is optional.

Folks, stop compairing it to an MPC 1000. This unit combines features of the 1000, 2000XL, 4000, and has added features that are an MPC first.

Wordz of wisdom it would be a step down when if you wait til dec you will be one happy puppy indeed. The Z8 is way more advanced than the 2500 and the processer is faster too.

But if you can`t wait and the 4k is too complicate just remember I told you so.

ive got a 4k. and i want a 2500. I guess your right it would be sort of a step down. Dont get me wrong i luv my 4k, but there are definately things i dont use, and alot of things I do. THe true test will be to actually try it out, and compare it. I think Ill have a good idea right away and I might realize that its not a good choice.

But when i sold my 2xl for my 4k........its not that i didnt like my 2xl, It just lacked a few updated features. Like media disk, more filters, more memory, more midi outs, some sample editing features, like resampling, and normalize......and of course more outputs standard is nice.....thats pretty much it for me! The only thing i could see myself really missing on the 4k that the 2500 is the instrument pgming.

I guess its not neccessary for us 4k users to be looking at it. But Depending on its price, it might be a comprimise that I could do, and maybe make some money doing it........or at least getting something else too. I could be wrong, well have to wait on exact street price, and street price for used mpc4k.

^^^^and if it has the same user feel as the mpc2xl, plus the needed features......that would be **** phenominal.

peace
