I mean Im not trying to sound stupid or anything but I mean how long has the MPC 1000 been out till the announcement of the 2500? Isnt this pissing off a lot of mpc 1000 users... Just curious I mean from the updates a lot of users wish that they were going to have but extremely unluckely to have.

Hope to know what others think. Is people now going to sell there mpc 1000 or going to keep them.

No one should be pissed.

If anything it just gives us more gear to
play with if we chose to do so.

i am not pissed as its just the way things go with technology and music gear...i just hope its reasonably priced so i can get it to compliment the 1k...sell the 1k?Well...i stoppe chasing the newest thing out there years ago when i ecided i was dropping too much $ and not focusing enough on the music.

this thing is not marketed at 1k users. THis is for the 2k users who have been wanting an upgrade. Roland Drops new gear all the time, Look at how many fantoms have dropped.

Thats cool and I cool with all the replies. I dont know in my opinion it seems that they are not to focus on the 1000 rather on the rest of the MPC series. Since the 2500 is going to drop I wonder how much the 2000xl will then cost. I live in canada btw :)

Very true. Jus like with any company. they are always going to come out with new gear. Its just like computers. You may have the hottest laptop, but a month later your laptop is old news to the newest, hottest thing out. Its just the way things are. plus the 2500 is going to be almost double what the 1k cost. Thats alot of dough. i'm happy using my 1k/ASR 10 combo. I don't need anything more, but some feel the need to always get that hottest piece of gear out. Man if you got the dough to do so, by all means go for it. I can't hate on someone elses hustle. Its just not my type of thing.

I really believe that the mpc1k is going to get a new os soon..i mean its already proven the hd kit is coming so i expect that a serious upgrade for the 1k is soon to arrive..and it may be the last os for it as well..

What do you mean, an upgrade for the 1k? I have a 1k, does that mean, there are going to be updates to download or buy to advance the abilities of it? Or does that mean the 1k is just going to be re-released and better than the one I have now?

There might be an update for the os, and they will eventually be relessing a hard drive caddy. So when you buy one of the supported hard drives. Everything will work proper. But don't worry If they do drop a new os, it will most likely be free.

They could very well charge for the new os with all the updates. Seein' how so many people been sweatin' it.

I tried to post this in another thread that got deleted... anyway, don't you think it is a good thing that akai is coming out with new products? I would make a silly guess and say it will keep them in business. Just a thought.

I doubt that Akai would charge money for an update that allows you to run it with a hard drive when they're already gonna make bank on the mounting kit. I don't wanna speculate any worst-case scenarios incase Akai reads these forums and gets any crooked ideas either.

is that all the "update" will actually do, is allow a harddrive to interact with the akai...

that's garbage

you know what you were gettin when you bought your mpc. i dont know why your gettin so crazy that all that may be included in an os update for the mpc 1000 to recognize a harddrive. if your complaining so much about what is missing sell your shit and get something else. tired of hearing fools bitching about os updates and what will be included... i mean its stated once from akai that their will be an up date for the 1000 just be happy that they are still doing shit for the 1000 and just leave it at that.

My only fear is that a year after Akai drop the MPC 2500 they go and drop an MPC 2500 XL !

Probaly be thiner, with a slighty faster processor and sh*t...

Its bound to happen what am I talking about, thats technology for ya!
