Grrr... :x

I have a sequence, 16 bars long, with a sample on pad 1, bank a, of a chick singing for about 8-9 bars (it fades in the 9th), so i repeat it at the start of 9 so it goes a little past 16 and starts over again at 1...

I also have another sample layer sound on pad 3, of bank a, that is less than 1 bar long which i bring in every 2 bars. The first 8 bars are cool, both samples play all the way, but then the chick starts up at 9, and at like the middle of 13, the sample just stops...WTF?

The other sample also hits at 13, so I thought it might be that, so I muted that track, and the chick sample goes on fine. When I also listen to the first sample (chick - 9 bars) solo, it sounds fine as well and goes the whole way.

Any thoughts, or ideas why this would be happening...I don't know what to do...??????

mute groups or polyphony issues

By DJAwethentic Sat Sep 17, 2005 5:40 pm
wtf does that mean?
By DJAwethentic Sat Sep 17, 2005 11:53 pm
I looked at all that, every sample I have assigned to a pad is set to poly, and the mute group is off for all of them....grrrr....

and like I said, bars 1-8 are the same as 9 thru 16 and its only happening on bar 13 for some reason...

i'm goin crazy here...HELP!

if you want one pad to cancel another but play preventing the overlap of sounds, do as said and read the manual...

this is refered to as MUTE GROUPS, if both pads are on 1 or the same number then they will mute each other, or cancel each other....

damn another commen sense issue....and yet these kids still cant use it..

"if you want one pad to cancel another but play preventing the overlap of sounds, do as said and read the manual... "

I DONT want the pads cancelling each other, that is the problem I am having...and I have read the manual. It obviously is another issue going on. There is no reason the sample should just stop all of a sudden, when i don't have any mute groups set, and all of the samples are poly.

"damn another commen sense issue....and yet these kids still cant use it.."

So relax about it...no need for you to be so arrogant about an issue you aparently can't even help me out on...

fukn a man

any other help would be cool...

i still think it's polyphony issues, probably got too many stereo samples playing at once.

By DJAwethentic Sun Sep 18, 2005 1:51 am
So, basically, I need to cut down on some of my stereo samples, maybe make some of my drums mono? My mpc basically just can't handle all the stereo goin down at once???

By DJAwethentic Sun Sep 18, 2005 1:56 am
Yo,
Thanks a bunch Antonym...I made all my drum samples mono, and kept everything else the same, and everything plays back fine now...

Word.

I can't say speak for everyone in here, but I think most ppl in here always have their drums in mono.

im sorry, but you didnt read the manual, stop lying to us and yourself
By DJAwethentic Sun Sep 18, 2005 6:31 am
I'm back to square one again...this sucks...

Can the mpc just not handle all thats goin on???

The sample sounds fine going into bar 9, and the only thing different in bars 9 thru 16 versus 1 thru 8 is hats and a snare added, but the sample cuts at the very end of 16 and doesn't go into 17.

Then 17 thru 24 are the same as 9 thru 16, but the sample cuts after the first bar...

WTF is goin on!?

Learn to take constructive critisizm! You will grow alot faster in all ways. He isnt being arrogant. Hes being frustrated. Just calm down and step back from your mpc. Read all you can about the topic or even on another function of your mpc. Alot of times the solution becomes apparent without focusing on the problem. Gota have space for your thoughts to sort themselves. Im pretty sure your problem is arising from the way you set up your layout inside the mpc. Start a whole new project by the book and compare the two. And how long is this sample?
