Hey

I've got an MPC1000 and I recently got a Mac Mini with OS10.4 (Tiger). When I try and connect my MPC to the Mac it just doesn't recognise it. Anyone having this problem? Any solutions?

Thanks

are you in the 'usb' screen when you connect it?

just like what ^^^^^said, be sure to have both sides of the usb cable plugged in and go to mode > load or save > then press usb otherwise the computer mac/pc will not know anything is there.

yeah had made sure everything was connected first. dunno if it's something i'm doing wrong or if it's anything to do with the fact Tiger came out after the 1000?

was hoping to back some stuff up and also so i could burn some s*** i'd done to CD

when connecting the mpc to a computer you have to set the mpc to usb connection (see 1k book) then the cf card loaded in your mpc will show up in tiger

the fact that tiger came out after the 1000 doesn't matter. all the computer (mac/pc) see is a mass storage usb device. it doesn't see the mpc as an mpc/sampler/drum machine......

BTW if you wanted to back up your stuff to later burn to CD, you have to remember that the mpc doesn't save files like that. you would have to resample your track into itself (record main outs) then save that sample as a wav. then you could transfer that over to the mac to burn.
