I use sofware samplers a lot, but not for everything.
I chop all my samples from vinyl with ReCycle, and them load them into a software sampler. That way i don't have to transfer them to my mpc, saves time.
And i never load instruments into my mpc because it takes long to load all those samples.
I still use the mpc for all my drums, they don't take that long to load anyway.

This is pretty muh how I have been working, the only resaon Im considering kontakt2 is becuase of its "DFD" and 64bit sound engin, plus its compatiblity with so many diffrent sound types. If it wasnt for these things I would just stick with reason 3.

Very true. If you don't use the effects anyway, you might as well use a simpler sampler, the internal processing isn't that important if you don't use the filters.
I use SFZ+ for the stuff i chopped in ReCycle. It loads SF2 files, so you don't have to convert anything. This is the most efficient sampler i have found yet, and it's very simple to use too.
I also use EXS24 for some instruments because i really like the sound of this sampler.
And i have MOTU Mach 5, but i almost never use that because it eats memory. Maybe when i get a new computer i'll start using it more though.

When you sync up the mpc to any software your stuff doesn't be off. I want to use Kontact but when I use any software with my MPC1000, it just doesn't seem right? Plus I want hardware quality. Maybe I should get over that right?
