Saving: Sequences - midi file type? Sounds - wav. or snd.?

Q1. Do you guys know what's the difference is between Midi file type 0 and Midi file type 1. When saving a seq on the 2000xl it gives you the choice between the two.

What's the benifits of each. Should I be saving my sequences in one or the other?

Q2. Alright same question but this time for saving sounds. Shoul I be using snd. or wav.?

1. i am not sure but i think either midi 0 or 1 does'nt save mixer settings and stuff why dont you just save an all.? file it will save all your mixer and fx settings

2. i have heard snd. loads and saves faster but i have never noticed any difference but if you save as wav it's easier to edit the files in wavlab and other programs that does'nt support snd. files

SNDs load about 2.5 times faster than WAVs. But like PSI said, WAVs are easier to edit via PC

I do save as .all files most of the time. I didn't realize the all. files saved mixer settings. I would've figured the prg. file would've saved the mixer settings. I don't really use the mixer all that much, I usually just adjust the velocity in step editing or change track volume. I haven't been paning my sounds at all. Do you find panning makes a big difference?

I've been saving as snd. files. I probably should start saving as wav. I don't really use any software. I want to. I just am so much better at learning hardware. I'll get to it.

If i remember it right prg. only saves which sound goes where and attack, decay, velocity etc.

as for panning , i dont pan so much either, i know it can make a big difference, like if you pan each drumhit it can leave more room for other instruments... just experiment... and you can record your panning and volume changes too

You can record changes? Like live changes. On the mixer? Did I hear you right? How? By playing sequences with the mixer window open? I'll check the book and try it I don't have the time right now. Anyone know anything about this?

im pretty sure you can so atleast on the xl version..there's a setting you have to change first

Still haven't turn on my mpc since, but I'll post what I find.
