I've been searching the forum for a while now and I haven't been able to find any topic to help me.
Basically I made the backbone of a song (so far about 20 patterns) in fruityloops and I want to transfer what I have made to my MPC. Is there a easy way to do this? Normally I could just remake it on the mpc but im too lazy to remake 20 patterns.
When I export the song to a midi file from FL what needs to be done for it to work in the mpc?
I dont understand where you assign the midi notes to the samples in FL? It just gave me a 4 min long MIDI file and I dont know what to do with it. I have all the samples I used in FL on my mpc, and the MIDI file...

I hope my question isn't too vague but this is annoying me and I wish i never used FL in the first place. Any advice will help.

Thanks

my only advice stop being lazy. hahaha nah seriously why are you being lazy. why didnt you just sequence everything in your mpc?? if i were you i would resequence everthing in your mpc . i like the timing and swing of my mpc over fruity reason or other programs i have tried.

AHH!!! I dont even want to think about reprogramming it right now!!!
The main reason why I want to throw it on my mpc is for the swing & sound... Which would be really nice to be able to do.

Sometimes its nice to use fruityloops to make a pattern just by eye. Everytime I do it I always get some funky rythem, and its a break from the norm. Plus its hilarious to spell something in the step sequencer and hit play. You never know what ur gonna get, rather than on a mpc knowing what ur gonna get. But other then that fruityloops isn't my shneeze.

Lemme know though, I need to make this transfer happen.

Just record the patterns from Fl 2 the Mpc as audio, match the tempo's and assiang the indivisual sounds to each pad and diffrent tracks. But it would be better to finsh the song off in Fl.

But I want to be able to change whatever I want whenever I want with whatever part of wichever pattern at anytime...
Besides my wants, if I recorded the patterns as audio it wouldn't have the swing Im trying to get? i think.

I have that setup also. I say you should put it in Pattern mode and export each midi pattern and load up each pattern into its own track in the MPC. Then just give it a sound source. That should work.

So putting it in pattern mode is the only thing that needs to be done before importing it to the mpc? That sounds good.

How do I figure out the notes for the drums in fruityloops? Is there a way besides guessing when assigning the notes in the mpc?

Thanks for all the help so far, this topic is hard to find anywhere. And the only other relating topics I have found turned into arguments. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

screw the fl vs. mpc war ;)

i have the same setup and you should make the track on the MPC then import the MIIDI file of each sequence(s) to FL. So in FL you can import each track seperately or al at once. then make sure you have the right samples on each track in FL.

...

I'm not really tryin to do that... Fruityloops has a weird sound compared to the mpc. (i'm probably just too used to the mpc)

I'm just tryin to figure out if anyone has opened 4 min worth of a song, with multiple patterns, from fruityloops in thier mpc and how?

The sound isnt different(you can make FL sound exactly like an MPC)...you are only transfering MIDI data and inserting exsiting samples that were used on the MPC. Maybe if I gave you an example of what I'm talking about, you'll understand.

i think he's trying to say, that he doesn't want to ultimately use fruity. he has songs in fruity that wants to move over to the mpc. so giving him examples of moving from the mpc to fruity is counter productive.

i forgot to do it. when i get home i will see how this can be done (moving from fruity to the mpc)
